PBS NewsHour science correspondent Miles O'Brien reports on conflict between ranchers and environmental advocates in the American West. I accompanied Miles and PBS NewsHour producer Jenny Marder on this reporting trip, and shot some of the footage you see in this report (my first-ever TV cameraman credit!). About the story:
For the first time in years, hunting season for the once-endangered gray wolf is underway in Idaho and Montana to reduce the predator's population. Cattle ranchers say the hunts are necessary to protect their herds, but environmentalists disagree.
